Find a Buddy-Black Homeschooling Tips

Depending on where you live or your particular educational philosophy, Homeschooling can be a lonely journey. Often, family and friends fail to understand why you would want to take control of the learning and socialization of your warrior scholar. I've heard that some family members pressure parents to "stop the nonsense" and "put those children back in school."

Whereas you'll never convince everyone of the merits on Homeschooling, finding a buddy on the same journey can be a cool glass of water on a hot day. It's just like committing to a new workout regimen at the gym. Alone, it can be hard. But with a buddy who has the same commitment, the journey is easier.  The gym will see you regularly.

So find a local or virtual homeschool buddy. Someone who you could bounce ideas off of and be accountable to. Work to speak several times a week or weekly. Discuss what is working and not working. Motivate and encourage each other. Share resources and best practices. And most importantly, be a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen.

As Afrikan wisdom teaches us, "if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
